AKARD COMMUTATOR of TENNESSEE (ACT)  Our superior commitment actually had its beginnings in June of 1990 at the international EASA Convention in New Orleans, LA. Mike Akard was attending the convention as a Marketing / Sales Manager for another commutator supplier / distributor. Mike listened carefully as several potential customers in attendance commented on the extremely high commutator and slip ring prices in the industry at that time compared to the level of service (or lack thereof) provided. From that day forward, Mike began focusing his sales and marketing efforts on attempting to offer each customer better pricing and delivery options. The forthcoming sales increases immediately reflected his improved efforts, but due to numerous production limitations and size restrictions, there was plenty of room for additional improvements.
