Nidec rolls out new line of EV powering equipment


Japanese motor company Nidec, which calls St. Louis home for its American operations, has long been an established electric motor brand. It also has a history of expanding into other innovative areas, as it just did with the introduction of electric vehicle charging equipment.

"Leveraging Nidec’s global footprint and decades of experience in renewable energy, energy conversion and electrical grid management, we bring you our DirectPowerPS line of EV chargers," the company says on its website. "These products are customizable, flexible, and adaptable to meet the growing need of the market today."


DirectPowerPS chargers are said to enable scalable charging to maximize efficiency and minimize charge time. With a maximum power rating of 360kW, these chargers can house up to twelve 30kW power modules to meet the varying needs of automobile type and charging levels, the company says.
