Clash of the Grinders

An exciting competition scheduled for Fabtech next week

At Fabtech next week in Chicago, 3M’s booth will feature its unique and exciting welding and metalworking competition called Clash of the Grinders.

The popular YouTube show, now in its third season, is a head-to-head contest featuring students from welding schools around the U.S competing for a $15,000 grand prize. This particular live event will take place on the first day of Fabtech (Monday, 9/8) starting at 9:00 AM.

"We hope the contest encourages more students to consider in-demand careers in the skilled trades like welding," said Stephen Priest, Global Content and Campaign Specialist for 3M Communications. "It’s one part of 3M’s overall effort to encourage more students to consider the skilled trades."

Attendees can stop by the 3M and Airgas booths anytime between 9 til noon to watch students compete. The contest will feature great visuals (the sparks will literally be flying) as well as experts on hand to answer questions about the company's efforts in the skilled trades and how its products are helping welders work safer and more efficiently.
