IMTS 2026 layout and tracks released for September at McCormick Place

It may be a long way off, but since the show only happens every other year, the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) is always worth being prepared for. IMTS has released its 2026 layout and tracks for the September '26 edition of the world's largest manufacturing technology expo at McCormick Place in Chicago (September 14-19 of next year.) Showgoers and exhibitors can expect the following arrangement:

• The South Building will host the Metal Removal Sector and the Additive Manufacturing Sector, accelerated by Formnext. This combines subtractive machining and additive manufacturing in one location – just like hybrid manufacturing!  

• The West Building’s focus will be the Tooling & Workholding Sector. 

  
  
  
  

• The North Building will host the Smartforce Student Summit, powered by AMT and SME on Level 1. The North Building will again feature the Automation Sector, accelerated by SPS – Smart Production Solutions on Level 3.

  
  
  
  

• The East Building will expand the Software, Quality Assurance, Fabricating & Lasers, and Machine Components / Cleaning / Environmental sectors.

  
  
  
  

• Four IMTS+ Technology Hubs. The Metalworking, Digital Manufacturing, Automation, and Additive Manufacturing hubs showcase the people, products, and processes that drive innovation and fuel business growth.
