Megger webinar covers discharge measurement in hydrogenerators
If you or any of your co-workers are interested in hydro repair applications, a free webinar next week can offer valuable education for just an hour or so of your time. Have your questions answered live by our presentation team during one of Megger's "Rewind Live" sessions--this one covering Challenges and Recommendation for Performing Partial Discharge Measurements on Hydrogenerators. The webinar is set for next Tuesday, June 3, at 8 AM Eastern/9 Central time.
Â
Renewable hydrogeneration facilities rely on large generators to convert mechanical energy from turbines that are driven by water into a form of clean electricity. Due to their criticality, regular condition assessment and properly planned maintenance is vital to ensure stable and continuous operation of the power plant.
Â
Partial discharge measurements have proven to be a key-element for condition assessment of the electrical insulation systems for various high voltage machinery.Â
Â
They have the capability to provide an in-depth analysis of current state of the main insulation and possibly identify defects at an early stage before permanent damage has occurred.
Â
This session explains first the basic measurement principles behind partial discharge testing on rotating machinery in general, while focusing later on hydrogenerators and the specific challenges associated with PD measurements. It also gives recommendations on how to overcome these challenges in the field.

This is a free webinar. Attendees of this session can earn up to 1 Professional Development Hour (PDH) for attending live or viewing on demand.
