A constant fixture at Gainesville Industrial Electric passed away recently after a full life
Ruth Leigh Raines, age 93, of Cumming, Ga., passed away Saturday, December 3, 2022. Ruth, along with her late husband C. Hewlett Raines, were the owners and operators of Gainesville Industrial Electric Co. in Gainesville, Ga., founded in 1959. Mrs. Raines (pictured below) was a constant fixture at the business where she remained actively involved until her brief illness. Her son Larry and his wife Michelle, son-in-law Steve McClure, and grandson Bradley Raines continue to operate the business.
She was born in 1929 to the late Joel and Bessie Bolton. Ruth was a charter member of Cumming Baptist Church where she was a member of the Joy Sunday School Class. "Ruth’s faith in the Lord was exhibited through the kindness she always showed to others," reads an obituary sent to Electrical Apparatus by Larry Raines. "She was friendly, generous, witty, humorous, and sharp as a tack on business matters. She was active in her community and church, an avid sports fan, and always one to give a compliment or a hug. Her love knew no bounds."
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 7, 2022, followed by interment. In lieu of flowers, donations or contributions may be made to Cumming Baptist Church or Helping Hands Foreign Missions: 5043 Bristol Industrial Way, Buford, GA 30518.
