More Restructuring at IPS

Multiple appointments applied to new business divisions

Integrated Power Services (IPS), the growing behemoth of single-source solutions for industrial and commercial power and mechanical processes, has named Shannon Moses as Senior Vice President and Regional General Manager for the IPS Power Management Division, a new business for IPS, the company announced April 18. Shannon assumes this new position after leading the IPS Gulf and Mountain regions for five years. Shannon has been in a leadership role for over 30 years, successfully growing businesses in the industrial market.


The company simultaneously announced the hiring of Al Barlow as Vice President, Regional General Manager for the West Region and nuclear business. Barlow returns to Integrated Power Services after working for IPS for seven years, from 2015 to 2022, as Area General Manager of the Cleveland and Evansville Service Centers. Most recently, Barlow was General Manager – Remanufacturing for Road Machinery LLC. Before joining IPS, he had an 18-year career with Joy (Komatsu) and a 9-year career at General Electric as a Motor and Generator Engineer in GE’s Apparatus Services business. Al graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Electrical Engineering.


The IPS West Region electromechanical service centers and teams reporting to Al include Seattle, Longview, and Spokane, Washington; Los Angeles, Visalia, and Carson, California; and Reno, Nevada. These locations came to IPS through acquisitions of Delta Electric, Eastside Electric, IEM, and Reed Electric over the last few years.


Lastly, IPS named named Jim Mugford Executive Vice President of Clean Power and the Gulf, Mountain, and West Regions. Jim has enjoyed a remarkable 30-plus-year career in the electromechanical and rotating equipment Industry. A native of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Jim spent his early career leading his family business, Kadon Electro Mechanical Services Ltd. Following the acquisition of Kadon by Siemens, Jim became President of TurboCare Canada and Vice President in Siemens Canada’s Energy Sector. Jim Mugford was most recently with Sulzer’s Service Division as the President and Global Leader of ElectroMechanical Services.


Jim’s role includes the newly formed Clean Power business unit for IPS. This newly named business will include IPS’s businesses in the wind, solar, hydro, nuclear, and geothermal customer markets. The regional responsibility included in Jim’s role represents some of the largest Clean Power generation sources.
