Data-center boom drives record orders and profit at Siemens

The report is out -- Siemens reported record quarterly orders and industrial profit as strong demand for data centers, electrification and automation helped drive growth in its fiscal 2026 third quarter.
For those who are counting -- Siemens' data-center orders at Smart Infrastructure reached roughly €6 billion in only the first nine months of fiscal 2026. That's a useful tangible measure of just how much AI/data-center construction is affecting the electrical equipment market—not merely software or semiconductor companies.
Orders rose 14% on a comparable basis to a record €27.9 billion, while revenue increased 8% to €20.8 billion. Profit from Siemens’ Industrial Business climbed 25% to a record €3.5 billion. The company also raised its full-year earnings outlook.
Data centers were a particularly important growth driver. Siemens’ Smart Infrastructure business recorded triple-digit order growth from data-center customers during the first nine months of the fiscal year, reaching approximately €6 billion. Quarterly orders for Smart Infrastructure jumped 42% to €8 billion, led in part by large U.S. and European data-center orders for electrification and electrical products.
Digital Industries also strengthened, with orders rising 9% and revenue 10%. Siemens said its automation and software businesses both contributed to the increase, providing another indication of strengthening demand for industrial digitalization and automation.
