NTN hosts latest charity event in Chicagoland

NTN Bearing Corporation of America recently hosted its latest Community Spirit & Engagement Event in partnership with the D54 Education Foundation and its annual Run to Read event, the company said in a September 30 press release.

On Thursday, September 10, 2026, a team of dedicated NTN volunteers assembled 900 race-day participant packets for the 22nd Annual Run to Read, the foundation's largest community fundraiser. Run to Read promotes literacy, health, and fitness while supporting students and families in need throughout Schaumburg School District 54. NTN’s contribution helped ensure a successful experience for the hundreds of runners, walkers, and families that participated.

The opportunity to support this cause was especially meaningful for the NTN team because it marked the first time that the D54 Education Foundation utilized outside corporate volunteers to assist with one of its programs. Traditionally, volunteer support has come primarily from foundation board members and District 54 families.

“This volunteer event provided a great opportunity for our team to support an organization that makes a meaningful difference for local students and families,” said Tom Mohrdieck, President and CEO of NTN Bearing Corporation of America. “As we move into our second year in Schaumburg, we're grateful for the relationships we've built and for the warm welcome we've received from the community. Supporting the D54 Education Foundation and its Run to Read program is one way we can continue giving back while helping create opportunities for students and families throughout the district. I am especially proud of this group as they chose to celebrate the milestone of NTN’s first year in Schaumburg through service rather than celebration.”

NTN’s Community Spirit & Engagement Program was launched in January 2023. The program’s goals include contributing time and resources to charitable organizations, encouraging employees to take an active role in the local community, and building partnerships with other groups and organizations.

The D54 Education Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting students and families within Schaumburg School District 54. Through programs such as Run to Read, the foundation raises funds to help students from financially struggling families while promoting literacy and lifelong learning.
