Morgan Olson showcases newest first responder truck

Morgan Olson, a leading manufacturer of purpose-built commercial work vehicles, is showcasing its new Kestrel work truck platform at the FDIC International show in Indianapolis this week.

The Kestrel is a commercially available solution engineered for the most demanding first response use cases. It is purpose-built, fully validated, and already in production. The Kestrel represents a new class of compact four-wheel-drive, Class 2 commercial vehicle designed to support emergency response operations in both urban and rural environments.

Developed with direct input from fleet operators and real-world users, the Kestrel is not a retrofit or concept vehicle. "It is a fully engineered commercial platform designed, tested, and validated to meet federal safety requirements and the rigorous demands of daily fleet operation, per a company statement from the trade show.

First responders require vehicles that perform reliably in unpredictable, high-stress conditions.

“First responders don’t have the luxury of uncertainty when it comes to their equipment,” said Joe Rudolph, Morgan Olson’s Vice President of Business Development. “Kestrel was designed and validated to perform in the same harsh, unpredictable conditions they face every day delivering the durability, capability, and confidence required to operate in both urban and remote environments.”

Rather than a single-purpose vehicle, Morgan Olson is demonstrating how the Kestrel platform can be configured to support a wide range of first responder applications, including fireground support, command and communications, EMS and rehabilitation units, logistics and equipment transport, and multi-agency response roles. Its modular, upfit-ready design allows departments to tailor the vehicle to specific operational requirements while maintaining flexibility for future needs.
