Refugees in Manufacturing

Webinar this Friday dives into the possibility

A very intriguing webinar this Friday presented by the Manufacturing Institute will discuss the options available to employers looking to help refugees. The webinar—Connecting Manufacturers to Refugee Talent—will take place virtually from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Eastern time.

The Manufacturing Institute lists AJ Jorgenson, ajorgenson@nam.org as a contact for more details, and here's a briefing provided by NAM/TMI:

"This year, the U.S. government has committed to welcoming hundreds of thousands of people displaced by major refugee crises, including 95,000 at-risk Afghans who worked alongside the U.S military and 100,000 Ukrainians displaced by Russia’s recent military invasion. These developments represent an enormous opportunity for American manufacturers to help integrate refugees into the U.S. economy."

Join the association for a conversation with the Tent Partnership for Refugees to learn how manufacturers can potentially look to refugees as a new source of talent – that can help fill critical labor shortages and increase overall retention rates – and how they can develop successful refugee hiring initiatives.

Participants will:

  • Learn more about the refugee context in the United States

  • Understand how Tent can help companies effectively recruit and integrate refugees into their workforces

  • Hear about other manufacturers that have successfully hired refugees in the United States

This program will be directly targeted to an audience of manufacturing leaders like yourself—those who have an interest in starting, enhancing or sustaining their current Diversity and Inclusion efforts.
