Schneider might have interest in AVEVA
Schneider Electric said on Wednesday it was considering an offer to buy out the whole of software company AVEVA. In its announcement, the French multinational company said it had until Sept. 21 to decide.
AVEVA specializes in industrial software for energy applications. The acquisition would add a significant, forward-looking tech dimension to Schneider's portfolio.
The company has also achieved big things in the carbon emissions realm, being one of only 50 companies listed in a worldwide science-based initiative released in August that gauges net-zero targets.
AVEVA's oil and gas footprint certainly isn't humble: "We enable 19 of top 20 petroleum companies, over 300 refineries, most of the world's petrochemical crackers, and 900K miles of pipeline with the most comprehensive integrated and unified operations," the company says on its energy tab.
